Another below average experience from Fields BMW

I forgot to post this earlier. Please forgive me

Just to recap, when I ordered my X5, (from Fields) the totally dropped the ball and forgot all about me...I would have gotten the X5 late last month instead of mid-feb. I walked out the door and took my business elsewhere.

So, fast forward to this past week, when we go to test drive an X3 there.
We walk in the door, some guy greets us, and refers us to a salesman. The we told the salesman we wanted to drive a '07 X3. he said," which one?". I told him that there's only one, the 3.0si. He was like "oohh". So, after a longer than average wait, he pulls up a filthy looking X3. He said it just arrived today from Germany, but there was almost no fuel in it. The trip computer said it had about 1 mile in the tank. He said he was going to get another one, we wait 10 mins, he can't find one, so he said we'll have to refuel on the drive. Something told me he didn't remove the suspension spacers, becuase the ride was incredibly harsh. The plastic covers from the seats were crumpled on the floor. So, we slowly drive over to the gas station, while he gets out an puts fuel in it. Kind of embarassing. He has yet to tell us ANYTHING about the car. Not a thing. We ask, he recites it's option list, which I can see on the monroney label. He knew not a thing about the '07. So, after a quick jaunt, we return to the dealer and he makes no effort to sell us the vehicle. at all. So, he takes our number, and we walk out the door.
Before, I had told him I have an E70. He had no idea what that was. I told him I had an X5 3.0si. He asked, "what year?" I stressed the "s" in 3.0si, but he still asked, "so what year". I said, "it was only made for one year" He replies, " oh." He still dosen't know what year, and I wasn't going to tell him. Hopefully he did some research after we left.
We drove to the next closest dealer, Knauz, where we got good service. (They did make a huge mistake, though, and it cost them about an hour delay for the entire dealership...they prepped the wrong car. Salesman said they have two X3s, both "twins". They weren't, and so they had to move like 4 cars to get the one I wanted out of the showroom. Oh well.)
I will test out the service at Knauz, if I have a bad experience, I'll take it back to Patrick where it's been great.
Oh, and to top it off, the sales manager (Fields) sent an insulting form letter saying how they are known for their service, yada yada yada. They said "dear valued customer"...thank you for your interest in the "2007 BMW X3 3.0si"
Hopefully you won't have the same experiece I had. (twice). Good luck out there!
