After market installer of BMW Nav in Los Angeles, CA

The Navigation system on my 2001 BMW x5 which just flickered and died a week ago!?! I took it into the dealer and they indicated it had to be replaced they quoted me $3,600 install a new one?!?!!?

So, I just purchased a BMW x5 navigation system on ebay. Apparently it is an BMW GPS NAVIGATION MONITOR SCREEN E38 E39 E53 5 7 X5, in perfect condition, although I haven't received it.

I have seen the posts on giving instructions on how to remove/install this on your own, but I don't have the technical skills (or patience) to do this. I am wondering if anyone knows a good after-market installer or technician in the Santa Monica, CA, or Los Angeles, CA area (ZIP: 90291( that can do this without charging me BMW Service-like rates. It would be much appreciated!

Please let me know. Martin (818-266-7675) or [email protected]

I have a friend who installed the 16x9 aspect ration navigation (non bmw) from GAS (galpin auto sports) for 1800 otd. and it looked really good it also had the upto minute traffic reports from XM (extra cost)

I know you already have the hardware but, I just wanna help.

Either way good luck man

Did you friend do the installation or have GAS (galpin auto sports) do the installation. If you have contact info, please feel free to email me at [email protected]. Since I have the unit (on order), I really just need someone to take out the old and put in the new and program it. Thanks

To swap the screen does not even take 5 minutes. You can do it yourself. Why do you need someone. Instructions are on home page here under nav section. No programing needed.

Follow instruction in this link to remove, reverse directions to install and you are all done. Insert a cassette half way to keep the screen retracted. No programming needed.
