BMW of Riverside, CA - John Horgan Service Manager / Dinan expert

Today I got my X5 back from BMW of Riverside and I couldn't be any happier. It runs great, it runs fast and i've never had so much driving it home.

The X was in for the infamous SELF LEVEL SUSPENSION INACTIVE message...I also noticed my A/C was not working (no cold air). In the end, a few after market pieces had to be removed from my car (including the supercharger) in order to get to the A/C. All that work required an extra hour of work (about 100$) which I was ready to pay. Later, John called me back telling freon levels were at 1/5 of what they are supposed to be, and he suspected a leak somewhere (he had to add freon and dye for further investigation if the problem occurs again in the future), and that the repairs would be roughly 500$. I asked if this work would be covered under Dinan warranty or BMW warranty, but he said the blame would have been on the installer of the supercharger system since the A/C system had to be rewired, or there is a leak in the system which could have been caused by overheating and expansion of the freon. In any case, I was about 500$ in the hole for this repair.

When I came in to pick up my car, the cashier handed me the receipt for 100$ of work. John took it up to his boss to cover the extra evac and freon refill. He said that because I was a loyal customer of BMW of Riverside, and that I was left in between Dinan and BMW warranty, he would do the right thing and cover the repairs for me.

All that to say that John, all those years we've serviced our cars at BMW of Riverside, has been a TOP NOTCH service manager for our family. Some people have had bad experiences with Dinan parts and warranty work, but John went to work and squashed any ill feeling I might have had because of this issue. ANYONE in the Socal area that needs DINAN work done, or any BMW repairs done (whether in or out of warranty) needs to come to BMW of Riverside and ask for John Horgan. Heck, give me a call and I'll go to BMW of Riverside with you to introduce you to John. Last month I referred two of my e39 540 friends to John and both are extremely happy with his work.

John is a man of impeccable work ethics (very hard to find in the BMW service world...). TWO THUMBS UP , WAY UP for John!
You want the best in socal, well there HE is. Thanks John.
