Bad Service For Customer In California

I will never buy other BMW again! this is my first time have a BMW CAR. bad experience! they will say everything yes when the time you are purchesing. but finally my car need to do serivces. it is difference story.
anyone has same one too?? I prefer BENZ, if you guys choosing bmw or Benz.

dear all, my story is:
i called for car need service BMW in san francisco and also Peter Pan BMW in San Mateo. the question i asked them is "will i have Loarner car get to work?" both dealer have different way to say, the Peter Pan said we are small dealer, don't have loaner car for customer. the Bmw of San francisco said we have 100 loaner cars out everyday, if you need that, you need to make appoinment 4 to 6 weeks before, then we can reserve one for you. also, i ask them give me the retal car back to work. they said we don't provide that too. these are stupid service to customers.
finally i called BMWUSA customer relationship. they said these not under control by bmw of usa.
these are funny!!! i have Benz, i make appoinment any time with dealer service. they can provide me a car anytime, and Lexus too. no excuse at all. instead that. if they couldn't do that. they will found a best way to help you!! you will feel them very helpful.

thanks for your time guys!!!

BMWNA doesn't control loaner policies. Every stealership has their own loaner policy. Some only loan to customers who purchase from that stealership while others don't mind if you bought it somewhere else. As for the advance appointment for a loaner, that's just a common occurrence for most stealerships. Think about how many cars get serviced in a day. They obviously don't have enough loaners to satisfy every customer, especially a last minute appointment. Honestly, No Offense, but to say you will never buy another bmw because one dealership doesn't offer loaners while the other said to make an appointment a few weeks ahead of time, is just plain ridiculous. Try to find another stealership. It looks like you're in cali, i'm sure there are plenty of other stealerships and if all else fail, try and look into a independent bmw shop. Good luck.

That's a real shame that you had this experience. I have had good experiences with both MB and BMW service (although very bad experience with MB sales lately, hence back with BMW...another story!).

Did you escalate your call to the manager? He might have been more interested in keeping you happy.

Never had this problem, if they don't have a loaner they will provide me with a free rental. Both Pacific BMW and Century West BMW do that.

crazy......

That is really crazy having to make an appointment 4-6 weeks just to get a loaner car...........you can't predict auto trouble. You should have a loaner - especially if you bought the car at that dealership. I know some won't do it if you didn't buy the car there though.........

I go to the SF dealership because car is still under warranty. That has been their policy for many years and their attitude is "tough shit", go somewhere else if you want. So I always take my cars to an independent once the warranty is up. So I agree with you.

Sorry to hear about your experience, fortunately for me, I haven't had the same happen to me. Everytime I bring my car in, Benz or BMW, I always get a loaner or rental. The only they ask is that I give them a couple days notice if possible. My salesman even offered to pick up my car from work and have it dropped back off to me at work. I'd speak to the service manager before writing the car off. It's not the car's fault the stealership's service dept. sucks.

you should ask them why bmw make the car always have something wrong, i don't want to go dealer often. but the car make me there to bother them. if bmw make a better quality car. then they have enough loaner car. or if the loaner car not enough, they should pay for my car rental. right? everyones?????????? The Bmw should response all the bmw's car problem. don't say this is not relate with BMW!!!!!!!

langood> I can totally understand how you feel, Peter Pan BMW is the closest dealershop in my area, I even bought a car from there.
but no, I never go there to get any services, they are slow and small.
I also hear that Stevens Creek BMW has bad service also, I never had any.
so why don't you try to go other dealershop to see what they can do for ya?
I always go all the way down to Cupertino, Stevens Creek BMW.
ask Dan Cullinan, He's VERY nice guy, he always keep the promises, provide me a loaner car or at least a rental car - even I go there without appointment!!!
tell him that Woo Jin sent you, if you can make a trip to down there.

Good Luck!
