Its been discussed in the E53 forums and if you have some time on your hands to install the included software correctly, it works.
You have to run VMware 6 or 7 I believe, as the software and cable work on a laptop running a virtual machine. There is a seller from Romania on ebay who sells the same thing and he apparently gives a step by step video installation instruction. I was going to run the same cable and software but my wife's old laptop is dead as a doornail and probably doesnt have enough memory to run the software properly, and I don't want to bog down her MacBook any more either. I was looking for a laptop cheap and used to run this exclusively on but now I'm being cheap after the holidays and probably just going to pay someone to code my car for me or visit another forum member in Brooklyn for coding.
