Truth on leather care

Had a quick scan on forums and seems the general consensus is not to use leather care products on car seats that you would use on say a leather sofa at home...still trying to get my head round why? I emptied 5 buckets of grimy water after giving me seats a good clean today, and was looking at using the armor all gel that i always used but its out of stock, so wondering is there any harm with a normal leather care product as mentioned above e.g one for sofas etc?

I’ve not read that, but I guess is wouldn’t surprise me given the temperature extremes inside a car. Just a guess tho. I use Zymol products and have always been happy with their cleaner and conditioner.

The temps are nuts, we don't have sub 0 hardly ever, but above 35c/95F we have for about 2-3 months of year, for about 10 years had x5 under cover, but since moving it sits in full sun, gave them a good rubdown and grime was unreal(4years worth!) and 1.5hours later then look fine, taken on a matt finish...closest product that was not akin to milk consistency was a turtle wax product and will give it a spin soon, after I try try to dye some of the creases on drivers seat where the brown leather is showing through otherwise black seats....but yup heat is a killer

I've been using Leatherique since late 1990's on all of my vehicles

totally satisfied with the results

note: last time I checked they have color matching dye if you send them
a piece from under the seat

cheers, well i i applied some black dye to the creases on driver seat and the scuff marks....rubbed gently, looked as if a 2 year old had taken a pain brush to seat, so i buffed it out, and then applied the turtle wax and not too aggressively eased it in so to speak...so far so good, i was not looking for a shiny greasy look.....and seems to be ok looks fine
