Lay off the household products. IMHO be paitent get it detailed and make sure you specify that you don't want to see any water spots anywhere. BTW there are a number of members here that are aquainted with Crevier BMW.

I had these also, and they bothered me too. Last week I was detailing the X, and accidently got some wax on the black chrome window trim and window pillars. I wiped the wax off, and either the wax covered the spots, or got rid of them.

A good coat or three of a CLEANER wax, such as Mother's Carnauba Cleaner Wax should erase those spots.

I had the same problem on my old X5 with NJ hard water, made the mistake of washing and leaving in sun without drying. I was able to wax/polish off the paint but nothing will work on glass and sunroof. I finally used Spot-X on glass and it worked. You can get Spot-X at home depot.
