Lay off the household products. IMHO be paitent get it detailed and make sure you specify that you don't want to see any water spots anywhere. BTW there are a number of members here that are aquainted with Crevier BMW.

I had the X5 checked out at Crevier BMW and told my SA about these water spots. He said he detailer can get them off, but he is backed up.
Ha! One week later and I still can't get an appointment.

Anyone here know how to remove them? The X5 came from Boston and I am guessing Salt/Water/Snow etc.

Maybe the spots are on the paint - which I can't see - Silver Paint

Thanks!

I had these also, and they bothered me too. Last week I was detailing the X, and accidently got some wax on the black chrome window trim and window pillars. I wiped the wax off, and either the wax covered the spots, or got rid of them.

A good coat or three of a CLEANER wax, such as Mother's Carnauba Cleaner Wax should erase those spots.

I had the same problem on my old X5 with NJ hard water, made the mistake of washing and leaving in sun without drying. I was able to wax/polish off the paint but nothing will work on glass and sunroof. I finally used Spot-X on glass and it worked. You can get Spot-X at home depot.
