Question Oxidation on black trim

I would like to solict any info on dealing with oxidation on the exterior black parts of the x5............clay ? rubbing compound ? redye? replace? Whats my best option? It is the worst on the trim pieces between and around the windows however the running boards and fender pieces are graying slightly.........Thanks in advance I did find this I was wondering if this is the only option http://www.carwash.com/news.asp?N_ID=36016&mode=4
