I need help with the back part of my X5

I have a 2003 X5 and i want to protect it by buying the piece with the metal ball cause i got a couple scratches on it. The thing is that even if i buy the piece i dont have other piece with the hole installed in the car, its only the cover and thats all. I dont know exactly if I have to take it to the dealer and make them install it or i can buy both parts and do it myself. Thank you!

Are you talking about a trailer hitch? If so then:

The OEM trailer hitch and ball are about $500+ plus install. Do a search here on x5world and you can find a lot of information on this.
Also be sure to explore articles 1, 2 under "Body, Wheels and Styling" on the main webpage.
