There is an iPhone 3G snap-in adapter

I've just found a YouTube video of a "BMW 2009 iDrive with iPhone 3G snap-in adapter" It's in a 335i.

I really envious of the 2009 iDrive but, once I got over that, I could not believe the iPhone 3G adapter (part # 84 21 2 151 043 02 which he showed in the video) not only does the normal phone charging and antenna connection but also connects to iDrive to play music! The snap-adapters, up until last year, did not use to do this!

I'm wondering if this new iPhone 3G adapter is compatible with the E70 2007-2008 X5 and the iDrive in those? Anyone know? I have attached a pic I took form the video showing the part.

ECS Tuning, Is it possible for you to get this part # 84 21 2 151 043 02; how much would it cost; and can you confirm that it will work with the "eject box" that is used in the 2007-2008 E70? I found this http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/...chqt=byvehicle on your website. The snap-in adapter is $171? Don't know if it'll work in my E70 X5 though.

Ok, for the E70 X5 you will need the following parts:

The eject box is currently showing as available, however the iphone adapter is currently on backorder.

Unfortunately according to BMW this kit does not work with the E53.

Appreciate your quick response. Sounds like I'll have to do more research on this though. The "eject box" that you've quoted for the E70 X5 is "84106952934" (which might be a special eject box for iPhone integration) and the eject box part # that I have working in my E70 X5 is "841109141375".

I guess my question is whether the "Apple iPhone 3G Adapter 84212151038" works properly with the eject box that I have. (I know the iPhone 3G Adapter is back-ordered.)

ECS Tuning,

Is there any way that you can find out if the eject box that I have (841109141375) works with the iPhone 3G Adapter 84212151038? If it does, will it provide all the functionality that the eject box 84106952934 provides?

My other is go to my dealer but I have found them so lacking in knowledge -- I typically know way more about E70 options than they do...

Any update on whether this cradle (Part Number: 84212151038) works in the older eject boxes?

My thoughts:
Looking at the pictures & videos floating around, the connector on the underside of the cradle looks identical to the connector on the underside of the cradle for my old Nokia 6230i. This makes me think it would work on the older cars (E46) with the bluetooth phone integration AND on newer cars (my 120d) as the Nokia cradle works fine on both.
