4.6is rear struts

I just posted this on the e53 forum, but this may be a better home for my question.

I have an ’02 4.6is with Eibach lowering springs that I’m just about to hit 80k on. I’m starting to see some cupping on the inner portion of the rear tires and from those I’ve been speaking to, they believe the struts are causing that, which are the originals from what I can tell. I’m having a hell of a time finding reasonable rear struts ($300+ each at the stealer ). Is anyone aware of more reasonable struts that can be used? Obviously, I have the sport suspension, but I also have the self leveling option (not sure if that was standard on the 4.6’s).

Bav Auto shows Bilstein HD’s, but my mechanic’s part guide software shows they won’t work for either the sport and/or the self leveling suspension. Does anyone have information that contradicts what my mechanic’s software is saying?

Thanks in advance for any input!
