the airbag warning light has appeared on my dash board. Is this normal and

You can use VOLVO VIDA DICE,maybe can help you.

Anytime you unhook anything electrical on these cars disconnect
the battery beforehand or you will more than likely cause the airbag

fault code/light to show up. There are a few aftermarket scanners
that will delete the code but they are few and far between, and
most if not all of what you will see at the chain parts stores won't
do it. You are more than likely in for a trip to the dealer or an indy
shop that specializes in Volvo repair who has the proper diagnostic
equipment.
