Will run flats work well on E53

I would like to install Bridgestone Dueler H/P Sport RFT on my 2006 X5.
I know they are designed for the E70 2007 X5. But would like to install them on mine. Is theis possible and if so are their any drawbacks.

If I cant install these do you recomend the yoko advans or the conti sport
4X4s.

I will be ordering them in a week or 2 for the spring. These are used during warm weather only so i am only interested in quiet smooth ride and max performance in warm temps

Ask these guys. http://www.tirerack.com/ or do a search. I bet they can answer all your questions regarding what tires would best suit your ride.

putting run-flats on the e53 will make the ride more harsh

the e53 suspension wasn't engineered to run run-flats

someone is selling Michelin run-flats in the for sale forum, but they're 18s...not sure which wheels you have...

Ride quality and durability will diminish, to be sure. Plus, if you do not have metal valve stems in your wheels, you will have to add the wireless Tire Pressure Monitors (and maybe the receiver) to know when you have a tire going down.

We have had limited feeback on the tires you mentioned, but the Yokos have had the better wet traction and ride of the two.

If these are your two main goals RF's should not be on your list of choices. Not only will they ride rougher, they'll make more noise too.

If you're down in the NYC area anytime, hit me up if you want to feel the Yokos. The wheels are in the shop getting Advans installed . I've got afterarket TPM's as well so it takes a lil longer than normal to have my guy mount the tires on.

My dad and cousin have run flats on their 545s and hate them. I think they will make your X5 sound like a school bus and handle like dog doo doo.

I have the stock Bridgestone Dueler H/L 400 on my E70. I like them much better than the Michelins on my E53. They may ride harsher, but the slightly softer suspension cancels that out. They are much better in the snow too. But the E53 is a different animal, so I can't give opinions on that.
