Will E70 wheels fit on an E53

I know the question has been asked a million times - but I can't seem to find a definitive answer - will E70 wheels fit an E53 - I understand the hub bore is bigger on the E70 so I would need rings, but will the 46mm offset matter?

Has anyone here tried it? I really like the 4.8 rims

My real question is can I use a 46mm offset instead of a 48mm offset on an 18 inch wheel - thanks

I heard they have different wheel bore.

Style 177 is only common style between two and they have different part #s and wheel width for each.
