Want my X5 to handle better. Advice Please.

I have a 2001 4.4 non sport. suspension is very loose and i am very jeaulous of how my friends with sport suspension handles. We both have the same 20 4.6 wheels.

I was looking at my options but have many questions.

1. Will H and R lowering springs help the handleing? I am under that you only change out the front springs and use some type of linkage to lower the back. Will this only stiffen the front suspenion and not the rear?

2. I want to get sway bars. I assume that they will help with handling. Can i use the sport ones or the 4.6 ones, and are they the same?

3. Will I be able to use a 4.6 stock suspension?

4. Do i need shock if i go with aftermarket springs, and would i need shocks for the rear as well?

Lots of questions. Hope you guys can help.

If anyone has any of these parts, please pm me. Im looking for the cheapest solution.

Thanks,
Rey T.

How many miles are on the suspensions? Shocks will make a huge difference. Then springs, then ride height, then alignment. Forget about swaybars unless they are different on sport models and you can get some for cheap.
And be sure to update both front AND rear! Good luck.
