Tire Advice/Recommendations for X3

I have owned a 2005 X3 2.0D Sport (UK Spec - 18" wheels) since new and the car is fitted with Dunlop SP01 235/50R18 97V tires, front and rear. All the wheels are getting close to the minimum tread mark after approx. 20,000 miles. I'm a little disappointed that they haven't lasted longer but have been generally happy with the ride and noise, although I've never tried any other tires.

My default stance will be to have the same tires fitted but I'm interested to see what the other people here on the forum would recommend. After searching I can see that Pirelli Scorpions are held in high regard but will they last longer. FYI I never drive off road and the weather climate here in the UK is quite mild. Lots of rain :-) in summer and never much snow in winter.

Also, my current Dunlop tires have a speed rating of 'V' but would 'H' be sufficient ?
