proper tire pressure for X5 3.0d (2005)

Hello,
does anybody know the proper tire pressure for my X5 3.0d ?
My tires are 255/50R19 front and 285/45R19 rear.
Thanks!
Nico.

Thanks AZX5Gunner. Do you have a X5 diesel version in US ? I ask because I know the presure is usually different from gas to diesel (because weight is different).

Hi, Nico, I own a gas version. I'm new here and have not heard about the different air pressure between the 2 models. I just bought a new pair of Michelin Diamaris tires for the front and asked the tire salesman what is best for road conditions in Arizona, most passengers would me myself, wife and 2 small kids.
Road trips with luggage, camping gear or other weight, suggested going up to 45-50 lbs depending upon the amount of stuff.
Mostly just me, back and forth to my office or to meet with clients.
Regards,
Curt
P.S. Where are you in Italy? My Father's family is from Bay of Naples area.
But, they came over to America in 1898! I've never been there but plan on visiting someday...

Regards,

Don't go by the max rating for the tire - look at the side of the drivers door or in the manual for mfr recommended psi.
I would suggest starting at 32 all round for unladen maybe a few psi higher in the rear.
If the X is going to be fully laden maybe put up to 38psi in the rear - 45-50 seems way, way too high to me.

I'm from central Italy, Marche region.. near the adriatic sea coast (but I'm living in northern Italy right now). Italy, with its many cities of art, is definitely worth a visit :-)

Takin UCrewX5's (Jeff's) suggestion, I always maintain at around 32-34 for my tires. 32lbs in all the four tires gives you very smooth drive. 34 lbs in all the four gives you little bumpy drive but is fine if you have little extra load.

I keep 32 pounds cold in my 19" tires. The door sicker calls out 32 pounds. I have noticed that even a few extra pounds in the rear tires causes more wear in the inside edges. Anything more than a few pounds over and your handling and breaking would be compromised because you would be reducing the tire contact patch.
