I must say I love my TOYOs too. They are super sticky and best part of all they look so aggresive from the rear. After 5k miles, they still perform like new(no unnecessary road noise etc.)

Summer tires just aren't the same in cold temperatures, even if the pavement is dry. Mother Nature caught me looking this year . I was supposed to change my tires last week and never did. We got our first snow this morning, although only a dusting to an inch. Gotta change my tires.....

Advans are fatnastic. Comparing them to the Proxes is a tough deal though since one is all-season and the other is a high-performance summer tire.

Might not be a bad idea to do the swap thing on these. After mine starting wearing out due to the camber they did get noisier. I mainly think that it was due to the tread pattern after they started wearing down on the inside edge.

Don't get me wrong, love the tires, great handling and have been wearing extremely well, but I don't know if I would get them again due to being a directional tire, but then again will have to remount any tire to utilize the full tread I guess.

Just my .02.

hmm... it is time for me to change my tires on my truck. still on the original with 19K. The noise is horrid especially at any speed under say 40 mph. The rear tires are worn pass the wear marks but only in the middle section of both rear tires. The outsides looks fine. I am in S. FL. So i am trying to decide between the Toyo and the Advan S.T.

any ideas why my rears would only wear in the middle. I have 4.8is.

Isn't wear in the middle of the tire usually due to over-inflation?

Before I mounted my Nad4 wheels on my X, I had toyo proxies (on 17in oem wheels). I was really impressed with all aspects of them. They were actually pretty decent in the snow, ALOT better than my 285/35/22 sumitomos.
