Toyo Proxes S/T First Impressions

I've driven about 40 miles with the new rubber. Here are some of my first impression:

• All I have to say is -- what noise? Many warned me about a loud road noise from the tires, but my Diamaris were A LOT louder than the Toyo Proxes!
  
• These things grip the road like no other! On and off ramps were amazing last night!
  
• They look so beast! The 87's look even wider from the rear with the Toyo Proxes!

The guy at the tire shop suggested having them "flipped on the rim" every 10,000 miles. (They take the tire off of the rim, and turn it around so that what was on the inside is now on the outside, to even out the uneven wear caused by the negative camber.) Sounds like a good idea to me. Does anyone else have this done?

I have about 17k miles on mine now. Noise has not gotten any louder. They are about 1/2 worn. I have not flipped mine. In fact, have not even thought about it at all. I think to have that done, mounting and balancing will cost around $100. Don't think that makes much sense to me. But if your guy will do it for free, why not?

So have been happy with the tires and would recommend them.

Loud in comparison to Advans and Michelins. Did you ride on either of those with same wheel?

No, I was on 19" with Michelin's before switching to 20" with Toyo's. The Michelin's were slightly quieter and I expected that. So not a problem with me yet.

The bridgestone Dueler 400 H/L on mine saved me from skidding into a Cayenne S who completely blew a stop sign right near a school playground. Maybe he was braking as hard as he could, (first snow of the year), but he never came to a complete stop, and so I flipped a shit on him. People, don't use performance summer tires in the winter. k thanks.
