Spare tyre (tire)

Looks like the way to go is with a style 209 wheel and 255/55 18 non runflat tyre. Being only a 8.5 inch wide rim is should just about fit in the well in the back - after taking the carpet out of that area and probably the gas ram as well !! The diameter is about 9mm larger than both the 19 and 20 inch wheels even though this is basic OEM fitting for the E70 but should be OK for short term emergency use. My local dealer suspects I may get a few lights on the dash until the car 'learns' that this is not a fault but will cause no damage. He recommended that DSC be turned off initially.
I'm sure that I will not be alone in wanting a 'real' spare so will keep you informed how things go when the car arrives. I just hope that the floor goes down over the wheel - it will be close one way or the other. I'm sure it can be modded if only a few mm in it.
