Do slotted rotors make noise of any kind?
Ordering replacement rotors from Dave Zeckhausen Racing. Centric - StopTech. Can't decide between plain and slotted. Would want slotted only for looks. But... I don't seem to tolerate brake noises very well. Bumping, thumping, swooshing, or grunting sounds.
I've read that cross drilled makes noise, but that slotted make no noises. Anybody with slotted discs and finicky ears out there? |

No noise from my cross drilled rotors. Sometimes I get a wee bit of squeal from the Axxis Deluxe brake pads. Seems to be it gets worse when the brake dust builds up. But it is a small price to pay for virtually no brake dust!!!!!

I don't have slotted on my X5, but I have StopTech slotted rotors and Axxis (PBR) Metal Masters on my e36 325i and so far no additional noise over OEM. I have about 5-10k on the rotors so far. I would not hesitate to put either of those rotors on my X.
