Question Continental tires

Hi All:

Tires[/B]

Has anyone tried Continental tires in your x5?

I had them in a Mercedes (car) I used to own and it was the only good thing about the car. Very good tires indeed, but this was a car not an SUV.

I was leaning towards Yokohamas Geolanders but I hear a lot of complaints about noise.

This is for a stock x5 3.0 (no sports package) and the Continentals I am talking about are the Continental CrossContact LX.

My driving is pretty much every day back roads, highway, nothing crazy. In NY so I may be subject to the occasional snow in the winter.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Paul

Thumbs up I like them a lot!

I have these tires on my 2001 3.0 X5. I only have about 600 miles on them but I like them much better than the OEM Michelin energy's.(read add $50.00 per tire for the brand name). We have huge winters up here and I suspect they will be just fine as I have a LOT of bad weather driving hours under my belt. Been in a few downpurs recently while climbing and decending some steep mountain passes and they preformed flawlessly. I also tow a 4000lb boat trailer and these shoes grab great on steep wet boat ramps. Great warranty and I don't believe any of the negs people post. I own an SUV and treat it like one in living in Wyoming. The tires are not silent but far from BF Goodrich AT noisy. The tread design actively sheds pebbles and stones well and they look nice on the stock rims. Their low price is due to the fact that Conti has yet to get much market share with the light truck market and hasn't cut any sweetheart deals with any vehicle maufacturers, NOT, IMHO, from being a lesser tire.
