How much brake fluid will I need?

Hey, how many liters of brake fluid will I need after a complete brake line bleed? I did a search, and came up with pages upon pages, but no (quick reference) info on necessary volume. Maybe someone can shoot a quick number at me!

Thanks!

Buy 2 Liters. I can't recall if it was just shy of 1 liter or just a tad bit more than 1 litre...

YMMV depending on how much you bleed out but 2 liters should be more than sufficient.
I'd go with ATE Gold or Blue (get opposite of what color you have in your system right now*. This way you know where the difference in fluid is coming out.

However, bear in mind ATE Blue will stain your tank

If you're going to be cracking open the system (e.g., replacing lines or installing new calipers) then get two liters. If it's just a maintenance bleed, then a single 1 liter can will suffice.

For the best results, avoid pressure bleeding or vacuum bleeding. Instead, follow the "performance" bleed instructions here: Bleeding Brakes, which will yield the firmest possible pedal.
