2006 4.8 Tire ?

Would like to get more of a sidewall for my 4.8. The potholes in NYC are killing me. Has anyone changed the tires to different sizes for the factory rims or do i just have to change the tires and rims ? thanks

Smallest wheel a 4.8 can accomodate is 18inches, youŽd need 255-55 tire.

You will have to change the rims if you want more sidewall. Rolling diameter has to be the same, otherwise it will hit the wheel well.

Get some 19" rims with all season tires. Style 132 wheels are your best bet.

ET on the original 4.8is wheels is 30 mm rear and 45 mm front. Almost all other OEM wheels for the e53 are 48mm. So, changing the rims will at least require spacers for the rear. You'll need 45 or 50 mm to get a similar look. For the fronts you might want to with 15 or 20mm.
