Refinishing style 74s, anyone done black centers?

Refinishing the style 74s that came on the 4.4i. I am running M3 18s in the summer and style 58s with winter tires which I will probably let go this fall.

I'll start using the style 74s with winter tires but was thinking to paint the centers black rather than all silver. Was wondering if anyone done this and might have a picture?

So far I only have primer on there.

Quiet here.

Guess I'll have to experiment to find out how it would look....

The paint I have comes out a bit less black than the X but that is fine.

When it is dry, I'll tape it up and spray the lip in silver.

They came out a nice charcoal color which is good as I may also use them on the blue car. Spray the silver tomorrow I hope.

Here is what it looks like. Next step is some clear coat and pop a tire on there to see what it would look like on the car.

Got the clear coat on last night and they now really pop. I'll post a picture if I get home early enough this evening.

I did this one coz it had been scratched badly before I got the car and then some tire store added their incredible wisdom to it as well mounting a set of scorpions.....that's what pushed me into buying my own tire changer. :-)

Now the challenge is to do the other three the same way.....
