To stagger or not to stagger: That is the question.
There seems to be more tire options if I go with the non staggered setup and I could probably get away with not purchasing the fender flares if I went this route. I do not want to mess up the way the car handles by doing this though. I'm sure there is some reason BMW went with the staggered setup on the 4.6. I do like the look of the staggered setup more I think but I don't know that I have ever seen an x5 with 87s non-staggered. Advice anyone? |

You my friend are in luck. I'm doing a non staggered set up of 87s on my X5 for the winter. I'm supposed to pick them up tomorrow (with the blizzard warning here-- it's not very promising). But, I will give you my input and take lots of pictures.
If it's not a winter set up, I would prefer staggered though.

That is great! I can't wait to see what you think! I will be using these year round so I am very torn on the staggered vs non-staggered options. From what I have been told by a couple local tire shops there are very few types of tires available in the 275/40 and also 315/35 sizes. There seem to be more choices available on the internet but I am not sure that I want to buy tires online.
