Conti DWS - Discount Tire Bonus Discount Until Oct 15

Hello all, this is a cross post from Xbimmers forums. I searched and didn't see this thread here so here it goes:

For those of you getting ready to buy new tires, Discount Tire Direct is having their October promotion with eBay. Any tires from the discounttiredirect eBay store.

For every $400 tire or wheel purchase you get $100 off if you use their promo code (CMOTORS14) and buy through eBay. Example: buy 2 Conti DWS fronts - 275/40-20 one for $560 and enter the promo code and it becomes $460. Free shipping. Then do it for your rears - 315/35-20.

I ordered Conti DWS in 20" staggered 315/275 setup for $894 total (2 transactions for the front and rear sets) with free shipping and NO TAX!

Then you have 30 days and you can buy the Discount Tire road hazard certs if you are worried about non-runflats.

My wife and I have a 2002 BMW X5 4.6IS that we have run the DWS's on since the Latitudes are hard to get hold of. I am super pleased with them on the current X5. But we are selling that to a friend in a few days.

We are the proud new owners (well, this Saturday) of a 2013 Space Grey with Mugello Red mixed with Black combo Merino Leather interior. The tires on it are about gone (Summer Dueler HPs) and it's getting into the crappy cold and rainy / sometimes snowy season here in Washington state.

Hope some of you who were on the fence go for it and pull the trigger with this deal. As an example when we ordered these through Tire Rack, it cost us: 1136.70 (had to pay $70 for shipping in that figure). Oi!

Thanks
-Walt AKA Titanium5

Michelin has stopped producing the Latitude in several sizes, 285-45-19 for one (rear tires on 4.4s with staggered 19"s). Found this out after installing a set of 255-50-19" OE BMW Latitude Tour HP ZP take-offs with under 100 miles on them. Would not have bought/installed the Latitudes had I known the rear size is discontinued.

Thought I would post the best deal currently on Ultimate High Performance (UHP) Summer tires (fall is the ideal time to by "summer only" tires, manufacturers know everyone is looking at all-season and snow tires).

Found Group-A Tire, Lindhurst, NY, is selling Vredestein Ultrac Vorti and direct shipping from the primary Vredestein US hub (this is located in NJ, the tires are produced in Holland and shipped to this location). I'm OCD about FRESH rubber (even street tires grip better/wear longer when heat cycled shortly after manufacturing).

For those who have never heard of Vredestein, the company is over 100 yrs old, privately owned (Apollo Vredestein, decendant of founder), colaborates with ItalDesign/Giugiaro Design, Hamann (installs these on their high output modified ///M5s and ///M6s), Lorinser (installs these on high output Benzes....Benzi???)

The Ultrac Vorti carries an XL load rating and perform best on heavy vehicles. Low void contact surface (put these on a light car, hit standing water while going fast, you WILL hydroplane!).

The set listed below is rated for a max load of 8600 lbs., Y speed rated (+186 mph).

300 tread wear rating (higher wear comes with having "no excuses, ultimate grip" summer rubber.)

Group-A Tire will honor their e-bay price (no tax/free shipping).

255-50-19 is $249
285-45-19 is $276

$1050 for a full set. Killer price for killer summer tires.

I called EVERY US Vredestein dealer I could find online, asked if they did price beating, was asked how much I saw them for, when I told them they said NO WAY!!! Other dealers can't believe that price for these tires.

They look like a sick tire Tiag.

Sucks that the 285-45-19 size is so limited in all season however, I originally almost went with Style 132, but couldn't stand the lack of tire selection (I'm one of those assholes that runs all-seasons on my 20s, have not had a need for and unless I move north I won't be needing it)

Yeah, seemed foolish to keep going the "all season" tire route on a TX X.

I have my OE non-stagger style 74s with B'stone T'za "all season" tires if we get a serious cold snap or long rain spell.

I considered Vredesteins for my summer mounts and the prices I saw for our 18" fitment was close to that price for the 19"s. Great price and great tire.

The contact patch width on the 285 Vredestein tires measures almost 10" new (at 42psi), the worn out 285 Hankook measured 9.3" (at 38psi).

The Vreds have a MUCH wider contact patch. Worn down, these will be over 1" wider then the Hankooks.

The treadwear rating is 320. I stated 300 prior (website said 300).

Haven't mounted the front 255s yet.

I find the sidewall design unusual, small grooving at 3 different angles (chevrons, logos and background reflect at different angles). This gives the tires a silver look (would not want these on a black vehicle, look awesome on TiAg).
