eas (or others) question on phones in E70

I have a E70 that I went through the painful process of installing the snap-in adapter so that I could have my RAZR hooked up -- primarily because of poor signal where I live. Now I have iPhone 3G and don't want to use the RAZR that stays permanently in my car.

The whole purpose of the phone connection in the car is for antenna boost and charging. Couldn't eas, or someone else with the skills, develop an adapter that would plug into the wiring that BMW provides (1. power and 2. antenna) and enable that to work with phones either with specific adapters for different phones or make the antenna be usable by being in close proximity in the center console?

My iPhone 3G already has charging and iPod playing through the iPod adapter. All I really want is antenna boosting in the center console and, it that was just available in the center console "through proximity" (rather than having to connect it) that would be great.

Maybe this all not possible but I don't see why given that there is the power connection and the antenna connection in the car (and hidden under the center console until you get it out).
