LeMansX5,

In this post, Ameritrades said this (and more):

There are new hub adapter spacers that convert the 74mm hub (e70) to 72.5mm hub (the rear on the e71)...
this avoids the boring out of the rear wheels. Link below:

Home Page > Search > es1899557 es1905746 > ES#1899557 Wheel Adapter - 15mm (DRA) - 3075740725

They are 15mm H&R spacers (best out there) and require extended lug nuts. ECS tuning sells them.

what is needed:

15mm Wheel Adapter Spacers (comes as a pair)
Part number 1899557
$124.76

Extended Lug Nuts
Part number 252737 (comes as a set of 5) 2 sets are needed
$12.95 per set

Thanks. I wanted ECS to confirm as they have told otherwise to some members as per other thread.

I'm trying to put X6 Style 232 wheels on my E70 X5. I know the fronts are fine, but I will need adapters for the rear. Please advise. Thank you.

You're best bet is going to make some quick measurements of the gap between the outside of the wheel to the inner fender lip. The pdf found HERE will help you make the measurements. From there you can decided how aggressive you'd like to get with the spacers.

The H&R adapters found HERE adapt a larger 74mm series hub to a smaller 72.5mm. We only have them currently listed as perfect fitment on E39s on our site. But due to the shared hub size they should be the ones needed.

If someone needs to go the other way taking the 72.5mm to a 74mm hub then Hub Centric Ring Adapter are an easy way to convert your smaller hub to match a larger hub.

Hi -

If I get the 15mm adapter (p/n ES#1899557), what lug bolts do I need to get? I was told I need 14x1.25x45mm to use this adapter for my 2008 X5. If so - can I order these from your website as well? Thank you.

The rule of thump is to take the stock length bolt (30mm) and add the size of the spacer, 15mm in your case. So I would want a 45mm bolt, the size you where told is correct. This should give you at least 6 full rotations of thread depth, anything less than that is a bit risky and I'd advise against it. We currently offer 43mm and 50mm bolts in the size required for your SAV. Our lug bolt selection can be found here.

Since you no longer carry the 45mm length bolt, do you think it would be wised for me to get the 43mm bolt instead. Or should I order the 50mm bolt instead? I don't know if that is going to be too long. Please advise. Thank you.

Kiet,
I typically prefer to use longer bolts over shorter bolts. But without having an X5 with your wheels that i could test fit the bolts on I can not say for cretin the 43mm bolts will provide you enough full rotations to properly attach the wheels to the hub with the spacer. The longer 50mm bolts may bottom out and there for not snugly hold the wheel to the hub causing more issues.

Have you guys discontinued carrying the 45mm bolts?

The 45mm bolts are no longer available, we are working to find a new manufacture to make them to our specs but have not found one which builds the bolts which meet and/or exceed our requirements.

So do you think I can go with the 20mm TRAK adapter instead of the 15mm?

Home Page > Search > TRAK+ Hub Adapter > ES#1905746 TRAK+ Hub Adapter - 20mm - 4075740725

Will this work on the E70 X5? Thanks.
