so when the switch is in the trunk, you have to stop your car, go to the trunk and perform the switch ? Would be nice to have this switch upfront I guess.

A lot of people ask this question, to be perfect honest - there is a reason it is in the trunk. It forces the user to turn the key off and activate the switch.

The kit was intended for use with the ice>Link, it can probably be used on other devices as well. I've had this setup on my 5-series for almost a year now and it supports switching on the fly - it may or may not work on your vehicle, it's always safe to have the key off.

Quite honestly, most people will rarely use the switch. Once the ice>Link is installed - the CD Changer is easily forgotten.

Question: does this also work in other vehicles? So with other brands of Headunits ? Eg VW, Audi ?

We only specialize in BMW - this wouldn't work in the VW/Audi platforms.
