I like the red V3 project, alot...
I assume that is diff concept car
than the F5?
The F5 looks pretty "Pacifica", but
dunno how one makes the crossovers
look distinctively different.

The smaller V/F3 is cool: a BMW pocket
rocket.

Hope they are working on mpg...it will matter
in "2008", imo.

Thanks for the pics, LM: you are the spyshotMan!

Thanks, Jeff.

I misread this article and I am more confused than ever.

The V3 seems to have 3 series lineage, but in what market is it supposed to compete? BMW is supposed to eventually bring over the 1 series in 2007, so by next year, we will have a 1 series hatchback (supposedly with a possible M model) and the E91 Sports Wagon, so where does the V3 slot in without cannibalizing the the existing models?

I was thinking the larger of the two was the V5, the long rumored BMW crossover vehicle - part SAV/part Car. I failed to notice that it is described as the X5/F5. So am I right in thinking there are two variations of the E70 - the X5 that we've been discussing the E70 forum and this F5 crossover? The F5 appears to match up against the FX series.

If the F5 has at least the same cargo space as the X5, I'd consider it - especially if it can outrun a 4.8is.

Update from Autobild: Huckfeldt's guess on V5

From the Article:
  • BMW dropped the idea of building smaller RFK (V3)
  • Only large RFK will be build under internal name of "Luxury Sports Cruiser" (a mix of wagon, coupe & luxury sedan)
  • LSC will be launched in the end of 2009 and will aim at Euro markets
  • Will be based on next generation 5er touring (coming in 2010)
  • LSC will be larger than 5er touring, and more luxurious
  • Much more sportier than MB R-class
  • Higher seating position than 5er Touring, but lower than upcoming X6 SAC
  • 5m long, 1.55 high, 0.31cw, 4 seats (5th seat only provisional), 600 - 1500L luggage space, 18"-21" rims
  • xDrive optional
  • Base weight under 2,000kg
  • Engines: 3.0i 258 HP • 3.0S(x)i 306 HP • 4.4S(x)i 408 HP • 2.5d 204 HP • 3.0(x)d 245 HP • 3.5(x)d 300 HP
  • V8 diesel possible, as well as M version with 507HP
  • 6-gang manual or automatic (no DCT)
  • Price 5,000€ more as 5er Touring
  • Planned sales: 50.000 - 70.000 per year

I don't understand.......What does "4 seats with 5th seat only provisional" mean? The whole idea of the V5 or the RFK from day 1 was that it was supposed to be a 6 seater at the minimum and perhaps even a 7 seater (a "people mover" as they first called it). The way I read the above seems to indicate that it is a 4 seater (5 at best)??? I don't think that will be the case....what is the point of a big roomy space functional vehicle (aka people mover) if it only seats 4 or 5 people? Am I reading it wrong, or does it actually mean 4 to 5 seats? Maybe that is the description of the X6 coupe's seating capacity.
