2008 6 Series - N62
I have a 2008 6 Series with 95k miles and my car runs flawlessly. Recently I got a low pressure warning and had the vacuum pump replaced. My oil sensor stopped working so I had it replaced too. Since then, I have been consuming a quart of oil every 500-600 miles which is much more then it ever did before. There is no blue smoke coming from the tailpipe nor is there an oily smell. I removed the plastic shield, and there is no oil leaking underneath. It was recommended that I replace PCV which I did. I started using 10w40 weight oil which didn't help.
I realize it could be valve seals etc., but it happened all of a sudden and after I had the vacuum pump replaced. Also, my car has a dipstick and the computer sensor which don't seem to agree. I assume my dipstick is to be trusted. The add oil light comes on when the sensor shows only 2 bars down. Any comments or ideas would be appreciated. Thank you! |
