As I may have posted when I first registered for X5World a couple of months ago, at the time I had 2 cars -- a Chevy Equinox (my "practical" car/SUV) and a Acura NSX (the "fun" car). The NSX lease actually is up this week and I am returning the car. I traded my Equinox in on the X5. The idea was that I am tired of having 2 cars and wanted something both practical AND fun -- the X5 is perfect! But getting back to the point above, when I was considering getting the NSX back in 2003, insurance cost was a big concern of mine. MSRP on that car was $91k. But it ended up only costing me $1800 per year for insurance with State Farm. Compare that to the X5 which is costing me $1120 per year. Actually, the X5 is less expensive than the Equinox was, which I don't understand. But what it tells me is that the price of the car is not the most important factor. Safety ratings are probably more important. Also, last year I looked into getting a late 90s F355 which was going to cost around $90k. There are companies that insure specialty cars like this, and the prices are very reasonable. What they do is limit you to a certain amount of milleage. Because most likely this would only be a "fun" car for the weekends anyway. So if you limit yourself to around 5k miles per year, you can insure a car like this for less than $1500 per year. |

What color is that? In some pics it looks grey and in others it looks like a brownish taupe...plate is the same so it's the same car.
