I own a 1982 BMW 316 European Specification, in good working condition, no rust, all original parts no modification or aftermarket parts on it, I was thinking to ship the car to the US restore it or should I get another old BMW in the US.

Dude, you first need to check with customs about how much that baby is going to run you to even get on the boat. Safety glass, emissions, body frame, etc. If its sentimental to you, then sure, but you could pick up something a LOT nicer over there to bring back Im sure...

Update my Old BMW 316 is officially in the US, without doing any change to the vehicle, the only problem was at the time of registration because of the German (US Forces) Title, other than that no problem.

Good to hear
. Your vehicle is over 15 (or is it 25?) years old, so it's much easier to pass thru customs. If only getting a 120d was so easy............

It was easy, the car has 25 years, the only problem since I didn’t have the original title I had to request poof of manufacturing date that I got from BMW Group in Munich after that the vehicle was on custom hold for two days. I did all the paperwork my self on Germany and in South Carolina, I use this company: INTERGLOBAL Shipping GmbH Uhlandstrasse 3 D-28211 Bremen Tel: +49 421 34065 - 14 Fax: +49 421 34065 - 65 www.interglobalshipping.de skype: heins.interglobalshipping |
