It's like that here in Taiwan, as well. If you look at the E60 series, for example. In Taiwan you see many 520i, 523i, and 525i. Very few 530i, and forget about the 550i. The price for a 523i (2.5 litre engine, not the de-tuned 3.0 the US spec 525i gets), is about $75,000 USD. A similarly equipped 525i in the states would only go for ~$40,000 or so, maybe less, because the cars that come to Taiwan much less standard equipment than the US counterparts have. The only standard equipment Taiwan gets which is optional in the US is PDC
