If rumours turn out to be true, the M1 would inherit the 343bhp 3.2L six cylinder powerplant from the company’s outgoing M3 model. This would give the baby M enough ammunition to hit 60mph in around 5.2 seconds, and a unrestricted top speed of 175mph. |

Wouldn't the power to weight ratio be improved over the E46 M3 resulting in a faster 0 - 60? If memory serves me, I thought the E46 time was 4.8 and I would assume the smaller M1 would weigh less. 5.2 doesn't seem to make sense unless BMW is underrepresenting their acceleration times again. Thoughts?
