Whistle 2009 F01 7-series with strange attachment on hood
It looks like this BMW 7-series prototype has some plumbing issues. We don't know what to make of this test, which has yards of tubing emanating from the engine and apparently being routed to a collection device in the front seat. It looks like a Bavarian Shop Vac from hell, but we suspect there is something a bit more technologically advanced going on. Sadly, that's the extent of our knowledge on just what's being tested here. Source: KGP

LeMans, couldn't it be a first test for a newer Hydrogen 7 car? Or perhaps aktive hybrid?

Saw a cladded 7 series on the 405 (northbound) as I was making my way to Santa Monica for a concert yesterday. Same exact one as seen in the pictures without the tubing. Unfortunately, I didn't have any decent camera with me to take a good shot of it. I should consider carrying a decent one since I'm actually pretty lucky with these type of car sightings.

The car looks better in person than in the pictures provided even with the cladding. That's all i can say but then again, this is purely subjective.
