I dirve by myself nearly 95% of the time, so having less room wouldn't bother me and I am currently driving an e36 325i, so it wouldn't be much of a downsize. I am more worried about how the car feels and drives and I think the smaller wheel base and less weight will make a big difference. My next BMW will be a car that I can take out to CCA driving events and I think the 135i will be better suited for track days than the 335i. I agree that the 3 series coupe is a great looking car, probably BMW best looking model right now, but I wouldn't even consider buying a 328i over a 135i even if they are nearly the same price. I am putting a little more value on performance than just looks and the 328i is not even close to the 135i with regareds to performance. The only temptation I see being an issue for myself is a clean pre-owned e46 M3. I have wanted an M car for a long time and just never had the chance to buy one.

To tell you the truth, I have not seen a lot of new e70 X5's or e92 335i coupes either. I am not sure if they aren't selling well, or if the whole real estate slump has rolled over other major purchases such as car sales.

There are more E70s in Charlottesville, VA than Lexus RXs or Acura MDX or Infiniti FX. Of course, Charlottesville only has a MB and BMW dealer.............

Went to dealer just now and although he has both 135 and 128 demos he could not find the 135i in his lot of over 200 BMWs, MBs, etc. Ended up test driving the 128i. It certainly lacks power for my needs but not as stiff as I thought. Also test drove the new beast on the market.
