Angry Oof!

Here I go again. Damage to our BMW, the 3 series this time. We are so unlucky with BMW's. I never remember any of our previous cars go through all these little crashes, and scrapes this often. Done by some lady backing up her Tahoe (I was not there, dad told me this.)

3 series is back in service at the dealer. Before we even got the body fixed, the DSC, Brake and ABS lights came on this morning. What a lemon of a car.

And after 3 days of looking over the car, Morristown couldn't find anything wrong with the car. Apparently, the lights turned off when my dad got to the dealership, and they couldn't replicate anything.

Yea, this car is just full of little problems. I think there has been more issues with this car than our X5. We like this car and all, but there are still these little problems that haven't been resolved yet since it happens to us when driving, but not when brought to the dealership.

Instead of a new thread, I'm going to update this with more issues with our 3 series.

I decided to give it a nice wash and vacuum this afternoon, so I start vacuuming the interior with the radio on (20 minutes). I turn it on and back it down the driveway, and start washing. After the wash, I wanted to bring it into the garage for a wax, but it wouldn't start! After a few cranks, with my dad next to me, we decide to try a jump start. It works, but the ABS, Brake and DSC lights are lit again. We reset it it (turn full lock left, then right) and proceed to drive around to charge up the battery. After a nice 30 mile drive, stopping by Morristown BMW, we find that one of the issues we were going to bring it in for on Monday is fixed (mirror tilt when reversing works, but no mirror adjustment). It is working fine now, but good thing we are bringing it in on Monday!

Must convince parents to get a new car . . .

When the ABS, DSC and brake light on my 330 came on, the alternator was toast. Replaced with a new alternator and the problem was solved.

Now the mirror issue, my X5 has the same thing. Sometimes it works flawlessly and sometimes it gets stuck in the downward position.

Ouch, an alternator replacement sounds costly. I'm not sure if our extended warranty even covers this. Weird thing is that this isn't the first time for the ABS, DSC and Brake errors, but Morristown couldn't find anything that caused the issue back then.

I'm hoping the mirror issues is just a fuse, especially since I know one mirror motor works. The switch and adjument knob do not work, though.
