Arrow US DRL for E46 (LSZ coding)

Hi all!

I see that all US guys when buying Angel Eyes are trying to get rid of US DRL that are made using dimmed high beams. What I want is a total opposite.
I NEED/WANT THE US DRL TO SWITCH ON.

I have to always have lights switched on when driving during all year in my country and I hate to "strobe" my xenons anytime I need to move myself few miles. The dimmed high beam is the right choice for me as H7 bulbs are much cheaper to replace than D2S xenon. I have no friend around with PAsoft1.4.0 or from BMW factory/Germany yet to explain me or set it up for me and no other SW offers this option now. We could do our own investigation by comparing LSZ datablocks to find the data bit that set the DRL on and off. I found at german BMW-treff forum an easy guide how to set the DRL up for cars with older light control modules (LCM II and LCM III coding index 18 - succesfully tried on E38) but the data block content is different to LSZ for E46s.

Cheers, Kamil

I cannot think of anyone on this forum that has actually got the software module to recode the LCM (Light Control Module). In some models, it cannot even be a simple reflash because there are different pins and fuses, which means buying another new LCM. Unless someone imported their vehicle into or out of the US, there would be little reason why anyone would pay the price to recode.

Maybe someone from jlevi can help???

If you're absolutely desparate, sign up at bimmerforums.com and post in the lighting forum. There's a user there, habbie, who's very helpful when it comes to lighting needs.

I worked a lot on this feature for all Bimmers, found finally a lot of things and all low level info I found for E46 cars I shared with KiwiJochen to improve NavCoder. I plan to close this thread now.
