Considering '06 330i Sedan

Anything specific to look for? It seems to be in good shape, with factory warranty for another 18 months and 20k miles, with CPO after that.

I have not driven it yet. I may go do that tomorrow.

Any opinions?

Thanks.

Can't help you out too much, but I like this year and model too. It was before BMW decided to detune the N/A straight six. Prices have been decent as well. IMO, this car looks really good with the sport package.

Good luck.

I didn't know about the de-tune but I figured I would try to do some aftermarket power adder regardless.

These cars a pretty good deal CPO right now. I have to return my CTS-V to my ex-company this weekend (company car), and I am looking for something relatively inexpensive to tool aroudn in for a year until I recover financially from the mess created by my legal battles my ex-company.

These cars seem like a good value.

The 06 330i has about 255 horse power. The 07+ 328i shares pretty much the same 3.0 litre engine as the 330i, but only gives out 230 horse power.
I read this on Turner Motorsport's website regarding the 2006 e90 sedan;

...your 325i engine is almost virtually identical to the 330 engine. Both 325 and 330 share the SAME 3.0 liter engine and internals. BUT the 325i came saddled with a more restrictive exhaust & catalytic converters, a single stage intake manifold (vs the 3-stage manifold of the 330i), and BMW's "detuned" engine computer.

Besides the e46 M3 and M coupe/roadster, the engine in the 2006 330i was a pretty beastly 6 cylinder for BMW.

Bought an '05 X5 3.0 tonight. Decided to go for the family truckster instead of the dad runaround.

You just did that to be allowed to stay on X5world.

Congrats! I didn't see this thread until now and could have weighed in as an '06 330i sedan owner. I still have my 30 X5 too so I have you covered either way.

Busted. With all of the GM bashing that goes on around here, I figured I better ditch the caddy.

Now my wife has the itch. We have an Escalade as the family truckster, and she has a 2001 Jaguar XKR as her beater. She wants me to sell the Escalade, like right now, to Carmax or somebody, and trade the XKR in for a 650 vert we saw at the dealer.

I am trying to push her into a 530 to keep from breaking the bank. Also, the 6 only seats 4, and we have 3 kids, so the 5 makes more sense.

So, I have that sick feeling, which means we'll probably have 2 BMW's again by the weekend (and I'm sure the 2nd one will be a 4-seater).
