BMW 750il

I think the 2001 BMW 750il has to be one of the best BMWs of all time. I would love to own one in estoril blue with the full sports package.. only question is ; how reliable would that V12 be and would the mpg be in the 10's. I have been looking around and they are being sold for practically nothing. I was wondering if anyone has had any exprience with a 2000-2001 750il?

You are correct IMOLA....I was just double checking. I was thinking 2002 and was going to suggest you stay away from that year .......Phil

The V12 is more maintenance intensive than the V8 7er, perhaps not surprisingly. Bleedingly expensive for parts and maintenance. But great car, best looking 7er ever made.

I personally like the E38 the best, but I'd stick for a 728i or other 6-cyl; they were available with a manual gearbox in Europe.

I had a 2001 740iL. Best driving/riding car I've ever owned. A pure joy to drive. But it was a maintenance nightmare. If I made it through a month without a $1000 repair bill, it was a reason to celebrate. If the 750iL is more maintenance intensive, be prepared to start a maintenance bank account or find yourself a really good warranty program.
