2005 645 + tranny & iDrive software upgrade = perfection!
Hey everyone-
Just had my last major warranty work done to my car ....... just a bunch of little odds and ends I wanted looked at, one of which was a somewhat abrupt transmission when accelerating from a standing start: often the car would start in 2nd gear and then suddenly THUNK! into first gear. Anyway, just wanted to let you all know that if you have a 6er and have this problem, GET THE TRANNY UPDATE. Worlds of difference, not to mention nearly seamless gear changes now....... Also, my iDrive was giving me some weird problems: sometimes going totally black in map mode for example. Well I just got the latest version of the iDrive software too, and WOW: it's finally *FAST*!!!!!!!! I can't believe it  So, if you're having problems, definitely get it checked out and hopefully you can get an update as well.
