Just picked up a new 730d

Yes, I got my 2009 730d delivered today after several months of searching for a car which had most of the options I wanted.

I didnt feel like wanting several months for a new car so I picked up this one from a dealer, there is impossible to find a dealer car with every option you want but aim quite happy with this one, yeah its a diesel I know

I wanted a 750i at first but there is basically none avaiable at any dealear here in Sweden at the moment. A very popular car apparently. I choosed to trade in my Interlagos Blue M6 for it, and this is a car I will miss HUGELY, but it had to go.

As I picked up the car this morning I have not had the time to try out the car yet and just drove it to work today. But I can already say aim NOT happy with the 245hp, this is by FAR to little in a car like this and it feels quite silly to be honest. Oh well, may trade it in once I get my new X5.

Anyway, here is the "beast". Sapphire Black with Dakota Beige and 20inch rims.

Enjoy your new car - sure the comute to work is a bit more comfortable now. As far as power - diesels tend to be stealth-fast so you probably still get there pretty fast, just not as sideways

Somebody wanna compare the torque of the 730d to the 335i? While we are doing a comparison, how about torque of the M6 vs. the 730d.

I agree that after driving an M6 for a while, any car 'feels' silly.

Try hopping from my 135iC into my Isuzu Trooper! No vehicle handles as poorly!

After getting out of my BMW and driving my sisters Subaru Tribeca for the first time, I said out loud, the brakes are shot. They are broken. After 20 miles I realized this was normal brake feel for this car. Got back in the BMW and almost went through the windshield!

Thanks ravenheart,

Yes a M6 is not the ideal car to take to the work each day and especially not as it take well over an hour for me to get to work, its highway pretty much all the way as well.

I got several speeding tickets and ended up losing my driver license and the M6 has been collecting dust in garage all since January. Feed up with communal transportation and dont want to loose the license again

Yep, the new 730d got 245 hp. I have not had the time to it out but if you look on the spec out on the internet it should be quite slow as well. The 750i got 407hp if i remember correctly. The 730d will replaced when I get the car I have on order.

It sure does, but as it will mainly be car to drive to work and on holidays with the family it dont matter so much. I have a 135i to play around with when I get bored on this one.

I think its a beutiful car however, much better than the previous one.

Dont even what to compere my old M6 with the 730d, I would only get depressed and deeply regret what I have done

The dealer which got my M6 thought I was quite strange to trade in a M6 for the 730d.

1st, with that much weight of that boat your driving 245hp is not much power to move.

2nd - with that in mind, I like the interior!

3rd - get the new M6 when it comes out or even yet, get the M X5. So, you kill two birds in one. Power and SUV all wrapped into one.

4th - One good thing, your not going to get that much speeding tickets on this one.

BTW - you have driven lots of nice, nah let's rephrase that...very nice cars!
