130 and 330 engines

Hi everyone,

I currently have a E46 330Ci and wanted to know if the 130i has the same engine?

Reason why i ask is because if they are the same, and because the 130i produces more power, i wonder if i can upload the 130i map to my car and get the extra power?

Any comments about doing this upgrade?

Thanks!

Yup. Your E46 330ci has the older M54 motor, where as the 130i has the N53 Direct Injection motor, except in Australian and NA markets where it remains the N52 motor (non-DI).

You have 231 hp and the newer 3.0 puts out about 265 hp. They are different engines...
