Crazy wide rear stance and awesome color choices - especially Technoviolet - will look sweet on this thing.

Remember that the Z3 and Z4 M cars were faster than the M3s so it wouldn't be such an odd thing for an M1 to also be faster.

It isn't going to be an "M" is it? Front looks exactly like a 135i, so does the rear. The rear fenders seem to be more flaired, but I can't tell 100% on the fronts. Side mirrors look the same as well. Also, no M vents on the front quarter panel or quad exhaust.

Looks more like a M 3/8 and not quite an M1.
