HELP! M roadster S54 P0420 Code
My friend with an 01 M roadster is having his Engine light come on at various times. He says its the PO420 code, when he bought the car the cats and 02 sensors have been changed already. He also just did a software update as well and it did not stop the light from comming on. The MAF was replaced as well because when cleaning it it ruined the old one and had to drive without it connected for a little bit. Any ideas?

Your cat is either bad (unlikely) or it is clogged. Tell him to drive it down the highway for 20 minutes at 4k RPM to clear it out.
What really is happening is probably that the car is running rich and dumping raw fuel into the cats and ruining them. If you fix the running rich situation, you'll also fix your cat efficiency code for good too. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
