to spend nearly 10% of the value of the car on an exhaust system truly is rediculous....especially consider such minor gains. Considering my vehicles use, I have always changed the exhaust for sound and ashthetics. Megan seems like a good option...

cheap is not always good...but for $400 VS 7k....i think..id go for 400...lol......if anything..then you can start taking the Resonator out to bring more noise........but at the end of the day.....you only spend $400 and $6400 richer..

I installed the Megan racing and think it looks really quite amazing. The sound was too loud even with the stock resonators so I welded in some small in-line mufflers and now it has the perfect sound in my opinion. This truck is never going to sound like a NA V8 like some of the e53s, however it now has some awesome tone. It's great to ditch the valves on the stock and now always have good tone without the uneven carbon build up that the stock valves created.
After looking at the internals of the stock resonators, I'd be surprised if they were any different that straight pipes in regards to volume...maybe just cut down on drone in the stock system a bit. I'm confident you will think its too loud if you don't weld some more substantial resonators or inline mufflers in place of the stock resonators. |

Oh, by the way, it's still a little too loud on cold start when the cats are heating up, once the idle evens out it sounds perfect.

Don't know what to tell ya.
All the responses above are valid and make good sense. What would i do? Not sure. Not ready for an exhaust at this point, but when i am, Akra is going to be my choice. |

I sell a axle back for $1700 but requires a welder to weld the v bands and an x pipe!
