Now that you have described that, I realize that I have also experienced it on my 2016 BMW X5M, about 600 miles ago. It seem to start once the vehicle had been sitting for about 2 hours and was very, very loud, only to stop completely after driving about half a mile. It has yet to return, but if and when it does, I will take it in my BMW Dealer to investigate, address and repair, as required.

Thank you....

If I go pickup, it's got to haul more than a 1/2 ton can. The GMC/Chevy 3/4 and 1 tons are the nicest IMO, quiet, ride is decent for what it is and they have plenty of power. Now with over 900 lb/ft torque, enough to move a house. The highest level is all leather and great electronics, just about too nice to have for any work.

Update on the situation - bought another house and bought a pickup, '17 F350 Dually, crew cab diesel (for general pickup duties plus hauling a future LUXE RV) and also bought out 1/2 interest in '11 BMW 535.

Too many vehicles, I am now looking to sell my amazing 4.8is as well as the 535. Hard to imagine not having it but I'm ready to upgrade to X5M or similar and once both are sold will pull the trigger. I'm starting to look at the X5M's (and a few others too) so I'll be ready to buy once I sell my other BMW's unless I find the right one and I'll get it right then.
