X5 M ordered

I thought I would let you guys know, I had a call from my dealer today and he was taking deposits for the X5 M - as with pre-release for the M3 and last 4.8is, no specs/options available, but given this timing, we will know something over the next quarter here in OZ.

The dealer is straight up, I have purchased my last 4 vehicles from him and he said "official details will be released very soon and deposits required when specs are available."

He did not confirm or deny that the X5M will be a twin turbo V8

Nothing more to tell you than that - i'll keep you posted, i suppose LeMans willl have specs before I do anyway

It is a TT V8 per latest info, but is supposed to be better than current V10 M5 engine.

Will update this thread as more info comes.

Uhhh, no. I wish.

(99.99% chance they won't, sucks but are they really going to engineer a whole new manual transmission for it, just for all the badgewhores will just buy a Step?)

It will really be called X5 M?? BMW has said for many years that no BMW SAV will ever carry the M badge, hence the 4.8is (not 4.8i M). I'd be really surprised if the X5 was part of the M division.

Please justify this statement? How would it be better than the V10 engine?

True and that was the case till early this year. BMW M chief was replaced by X division chief early this year and X5 ///M & X6 ///M trademarks were filed in May 2008.
